A word from the designer
I would define myself more as a precursor than as an entrepreneur.
My idea for the project didn't come out of nowhere, it had been germinating in my mind for a long time. By dint of observation and conditioning, I was able to glimpse a first outline of what a 21st century animal center could be. It took me years to put together the various combinations that would make ANIDOOR unique in Switzerland.
My various professional experiences have also shown me that it's time to act, to create a place where animals and professionals can find their place and enjoyment. It's not going to be an easy task, but it's well worth the effort, and we're determined to rise to the challenge!

"For 2 years now, I decided to reach out to the Anidoor structure in order to optimize the finances. On April 10, 2023, I officially became the CFO of the structure."
Jean-Jacques TSCHUMI
FAS architect in charge of the project
"With experience ranging from prisons to schools, with a few private projects, in equestrian sports, human habitat at various scales, sculptural design of civil engineering objects, I was approached by Anidoor founder-designer Marco Simons and enthused by his motivation. So I put myself at the service of this public utility project.

The reasons for the ANIDOOR project
I started this project because I became aware of the aging state of animal welfare in the Geneva and Vaud region. After working for local veterinarians and listening to them point out the lack of new equipment
the lack of specialists to help with complicated operations and the deplorable state of the kennels based in the canton, I became increasingly frustrated with the speed at which animal care was progressing in western Switzerland and the fact that it is not keeping pace with other regions and countries.
So here are my three main motivations:
Every year there is an increasing number of accidents involving animals, dog bites, horse kicks, livestock attacks, etc. These last points are mainly due to the lack of of general information from the citizens from the point of view of education and behavior towards animals.
The distances involved in reaching the required level of emergency treatment have a direct effect on pet owners in emergency situations.
Pet insurance is an area that needs to be improved. Not enough owners take out insurance for their "pets" with a coverage of at least CHF 2000.00 for veterinary costs per year. Sometimes the cost of restoring the animal to health exceeds the owner's available budget, resulting in the animal being euthanized for financial reasons when it could be treated.
Some laws are extremely outdated compared to the current situation in the animal world. Some countries like England have a police force for animals.
